Riding the Green Wave: Tadek’s Bold Move into Offshore Renewables

In a world racing toward sustainable energy solutions, marine engineering powerhouse Tadek is making waves—literally. The company has just unveiled its new UK headquarters in Woking, signaling a strategic shift toward offshore renewables. With a focus on floating wind, tidal energy, and even floating solar, Tadek is positioning itself as a key player in the global green energy revolution.

New Digs, Bigger Ambitions

Nestled in the bustling One Crown Square near London, Tadek’s new offices are more than just a change of scenery. They’re a statement of intent. The move comes as the company doubles down on its partnerships with industry giants like Atkins Realis, Maersk, and RWE. Specializing in cable systems, risk advisory, and installation analysis, Tadek is no stranger to complex marine projects. But now, over 60% of its portfolio is dedicated to offshore renewables, marking a seismic shift in its priorities.

“We’ve spent over a decade delivering cutting-edge offshore engineering solutions,” says Rupert Raymond, Tadek’s CEO. “Our expertise in fixed and floating marine assets has given us a solid foundation. Now, we’re laser-focused on the offshore renewables sector, where we see immense potential for growth.”

Floating Offshore Wind: The Next Frontier

As the UK aims to hit 50 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030, the demand for innovative engineering solutions is skyrocketing. Tadek is stepping up to the plate, particularly in the rapidly evolving Floating Offshore Wind (FOW) sector. “FOW is a game-changer,” Raymond explains. “It’s evolving at breakneck speed, and we’re at the forefront, delivering the technical expertise needed to accelerate its deployment.”

Drawing on lessons from oil and gas, as well as fixed and floating wind projects, Tadek is uniquely positioned to minimize risks and optimize project execution. “Our goal is to de-risk investments and make these projects viable,” Raymond adds. “We’re not just engineers; we’re trusted partners who bring stakeholders together to drive success.”

From Tidal Energy to Floating Solar: A Diverse Portfolio

Tadek’s expertise isn’t limited to wind. The company is also making strides in marine renewable energy (MRE) and floating solar projects. In March 2024, Tadek teamed up with Spanish tidal energy developer Magallanes Renovables to support its first commercial-scale tidal energy array. Around the same time, the company developed a groundbreaking mooring and cable solution for the Renewables for Subsea Power (RSP) project, which combines wave energy with subsea storage to power underwater equipment.

“We’ve supported more prototype ocean devices than any other offshore firm since 2010,” Raymond proudly states. “Whether it’s moorings, cable installations, or contracting, we’re committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in marine renewables.”
