Revolutionizing the Seas: TMC Compressors Powers Massive Fleet Retrofit

In a move that underscores its dominance in marine technology, Norway’s TMC Compressors has secured a landmark contract to retrofit 86 vessels with cutting-edge compressed air systems. This ambitious project, tied to the installation of scrubbers, marks a significant step forward in sustainable shipping practices. While the shipowner remains unnamed, the scale of the deal speaks volumes about TMC’s reputation for reliability and innovation.

Setting the Standard in Marine Innovation

Hans Petter Tanum, TMC’s Director of Sales and Business Development, emphasized the challenge of maintaining consistency across such a vast project. “Delivering high-quality compressors to 86 vessels is no small feat,” he said. “It pushes us to operate at peak performance, and we’ve proven time and again that we’re up to the task.”

This isn’t the first time TMC has partnered with this shipowner. A few years ago, the company supplied compressed air systems for 50 vessels, solidifying a relationship built on trust and excellence. This latest deal further cements TMC’s position as a go-to provider for large-scale marine retrofits.

Expanding Horizons: TMC’s Global Footprint

Beyond this retrofit project, TMC has been making waves across the globe. The company recently partnered with South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries to supply compressors for a fleet of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers. These vessels, destined for an undisclosed national energy company, highlight TMC’s role in supporting cleaner energy solutions.

Closer to home, TMC has also inked a deal with China’s Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group. The agreement involves delivering compressors for six eco-friendly 9,000 TEU container ships being built for Denmark’s A.P. Møller – Mærsk. These vessels, designed with sustainability in mind, align with the industry’s push toward greener shipping practices.
