Vattenfall, a global leader in renewable energy, has enlisted DEME Offshore, a powerhouse in marine engineering, to tackle a critical challenge: stabilizing the cable protection systems (CPS) at two of Germany’s most prominent offshore wind farms, DanTysk and Sandbank. With a contract valued at nearly €3.6 million, this project marks a significant step in ensuring the longevity and efficiency of these wind farms, which together generate a staggering 576 MW of clean energy.
Located west of the picturesque island of Sylt, DanTysk and Sandbank are more than just wind farms—they’re symbols of Germany’s commitment to a greener future. DanTysk, operational since 2014, boasts 80 Siemens Gamesa 3.6 MW turbines, while Sandbank, up and running since 2016, features 72 Siemens Gamesa 4 MW turbines. Together, they’ve been powering thousands of homes while reducing carbon emissions.
