In a bold move to supercharge Spain’s renewable energy landscape, Q ENERGY is breaking ground on three massive solar photovoltaic (PV) plants in Andalucía. With a combined capacity of over 200 MWp, these cutting-edge installations are set to transform the region into a green energy powerhouse. By harnessing the sun’s relentless rays, the projects will generate enough clean electricity to power over 92,000 Spanish households annually, slashing CO2 emissions by a staggering 62,000 tons per year. Spanning the provinces of Seville, Jaén, and Córdoba, these PV plants are no ordinary solar farms. Q ENERGY is deploying over 350,000 high-efficiency PV modules mounted on advanced tracker-based sub-constructions. These smart trackers dynamically adjust to the sun’s position, maximizing energy yield and ensuring every photon counts. Covering a sprawling 450 hectares—roughly the size of 630 football fields—the projects are a testament to the scalability of modern solar tech. Construction is already in full swing, with completion slated between late 2025 and mid-2026.
But Q ENERGY isn’t stopping there. The company is doubling down on its commitment to Andalucía, with four additional solar parks in the pipeline. Once operational, the region’s total solar capacity will hit a jaw-dropping 400 MWp, cementing Andalucía’s status as a renewable energy hotspot. “Our development pipeline in Spain is robust, and we’re just getting started,” says Eduardo de la Hera, Head of Development at Q ENERGY Iberia. “The next wave of green energy projects is already in motion.”
