The new and legacy 2D seismic data together cover a frontier area of more than 80 000 sq. km. PGS’ geophysical data will support the licensing round anticipated in 2017.
Pliocene sandstone play potential extends from the Nile Delta with potential for Zohr-type pre-salt carbonate plays in the Herodotus Basin in addition to the pre-salt sandstone play. The Shelf area is an extension of the onshore Western Desert Basin with a proven petroleum system and oil play.
