Frequency Decomposition – Revealing the geology before interpreting

Frequency RGB blends reveal geological features in seismic data much more clearly than a single attribute. RGB Colour Blends highlight subtle variations / heterogeneity within a given geological entity and allow differentiation of features with similar amplitude characteristics.

There are three different methods of frequency decomposition in GeoTeric, each providing different results depending on the type and scale of geology that you are investigating.

  • Antlers Hotel – Colorado Springs, CO

A one-day short course on using drones to acquire geoscientific data for more cost effective environmental and engineering projects.

Drones are rapidly becoming a tool of choice for gathering geoscientific mapping data at the property scale by geoscientists exploring for resources, conducting environmental site investigations, and providing geotechnical support to engineers tasked with planning and executing infrastructure development and resource extraction projects due to the relative ease of use, high quality data, and low cost per data point.

This one day short course is structured to provide those new to drones as well as those that are currently employing drones with the practical knowledge of photogrammetry and LiDAR base mapping as well as low altitude remote sensing using infrared cameras and magnetometers. In addition to instruction, industry experts have been invited to present case histories on the application photogrammetry and LiDAR using drones for environmental site characterization and detailed geologic fracture mapping.

There will be a special one (1) hour Industry Segment in the afternoon that will be open to anyone who is interested where six (6) UAS service providers and drone technology companies will present on their work and technology.

The last hour of the short course will be an open forum where the attendees are will be encouraged to ask questions of the industry experts, presenters, and instructor.

The kidnapping of the employees of the Oil and Gas Exploration and Production (E&P) companies, twice in less than one year in the Fata has sent a wrong signal to the investors who are now holding back from investment in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Taking serious notice of the deteriorating security situation for the oil and gas companies’ employees in the tribal areas, the KP government in a letter dated August 11, 2017 addressed to the Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions (Petroleum Division) said that the recent kidnapping incidents in the tribal areas had created anxiety among the oil and gas exploration and production companies working in the province.

According the letter, available with The Nation, four employees of the BGP (Pakistan International) company, which works under the supervision of Oil and Gas Facilitation Unit (OGFU) Fata went missing earlier this month.

This is second kidnapping in less than a year as in November 2016 another kidnapping took place.

The kidnapping incidents have negatively affected oil and gas sector in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

The letter has claimed that the investors have started holding back their investments.

Earlier, in another letter to Saeed Khan Jadoon, acting executive director exploration OGDCL, BGP (Pakistan international) informed that on August 9, 2017 four BGP personnel were kidnapped from the Fata.
