Enhanced 30th Licensing Round data packages

Recent collaboration between the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) and Ikon Science has enabled subsets of Ikon’s Roknowledge Regional Studies to be made available to potential 30th Licensing Round applicants. This data release enhances the already comprehensive data packages that the OGA recently made available to the industry in support of the 30th Round.

Effective today, UKCS 30th Round applicants visiting the OGA website can freely access content to a selection of Ikon Science’s regional Roknowledge studies with a subset of wells being made available from the West of Shetlands and Central North Sea Rock Physics studies and the Southern North Sea Geopressure study. The collaboration provides key information pertaining to the introduction and methodologies used in the studies, evaluations from key wells, a graphical overview of well coverage and a number of summary findings and case studies. The information from Ikon is being released under the OGA’s User Licence Agreement.

Continued collaboration with Shell and ExxonMobil has also resulted in the release of a significant geochemical database which contains raw and interpreted data plus associated reports from approximately 1800 wells around the UKCS. In addition, APT’s West of Shetlands geochemical database which was purchased with publication rights by the OGA in March 2017 has also now been published. All of the geochemical data are released under the terms and conditions of the current Open Government Licence.
