How does your salary compare to the Top CEO’s?

Despite the high volatility in the oil market, energy company employees still topped this year’s list of the highest paid Houston executives.

The data, which was compiled by corporate consultants Longnecker & Associates, has Phillips 66 chairman and CEO Greg Garland topping the list with $25 million in total earnings in 2016. That number reflects a 9.3 percent increase in pay from the year before, despite average pay for Houston’s top executives dropping by 9 percent.

Phillips 66, ConocoPhillips and Halliburton each had six employees make the list of the top 500 highest paid executives in Houston.

Even at a mere $8.9M the Halliburton CEO is earning $24K per day or ~$1K per hour throughout each and every day, no doubt they are in an always on position but is often quite removed from the employees that they lead. Do they add that much value, that is yours to decide or to aspire to.

The Houston Chronicle recently posted ‘After taking companies into bankruptcy, some CEOs come out with hefty raises‘.

The Houston top earners are nowhere near the top US CEO earners, see at $98,000,000. What are your thoughts?
